December is a special time of year for Vans Warped Tour fans as band announcements and tour dates start rolling in. While the 2015 lineup is just starting to form, several bands have already been announced for the summer festival.
So far, the tour’s lineup includes the following bands: Trophy Eyes, Alive Like Me, blessthefall, Family Force 5, Hundredth, Front Porch Step, Lee Corey Oswald, Neck Deep, Kosha Dillz, Handguns and Palisades.
The tour is scheduled to start June 19 in Pomona, CA at the Pomona Fairplex and come to a close on August 8 at the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA.
Tickets for the tour went on sale for Warped Fan Club members on December 4, but the general public can purchase tickets starting December 12.
Several more band announcements are expected to be made before the tour kicks off in the summer. Schedules and band performances will be announced in the spring and early summer.
We still don’t know much about what the tour has in store for fans, but if this year’s tour is anything like Warped Tours of the past, fans can expected plenty of fun, excitement and surprises. It’s not uncommon for big name acts to make surprise performances at random tour stops.
Bands typically play for 30 minutes each, and 10 stages are set up throughout the tour’s grounds. The biggest acts play on the two main stages. The show kicks off at 11AM and runs until 9PM. Several bands play at once, so fans need to check the schedule to find out when their favorite acts are playing. Schedules are available online, but fans can also see who’s playing at the show on the large board in the center of the venue.
The Warped Tour has more to offer fans than just music. The sponsor and vendor village also offers plenty of freebies, and fans can wait in line for band signings throughout the day. This year’s sponsors include Journeys, Beatport, Fuse TV, Cool Gear International, Monster and truth. Food, drinks, fun, entertainment and plenty of live music is in store for concert-goers.
The Vans Warped Tour first made its debut in 1995. It started out as a festival to showcase up and coming acts in the punk rock scene. But over the years, the tour has changed and adapted. Today, you’ll also find pop and even hip hop acts performing. To this date, the Warped Tour is the largest traveling music festival in the U.S. It’s also the longest running tour in America.
