Nas, born in Brooklyn, New York, has been active since 1991. The actor, entrepreneur, producer and hip-hop artist has released 8 straight platinum albums and has several albums which have reached multi-platinum status.

He has sold 25+ million records, with his debut album being Illmatic.

The debut album is considered the greatest Hip Hop album ever released. Illmatic changed the world of hip hop and pushed Nas into legendary status among his peers. It Was Written, his second album, shot Nas to even higher level of fame, with the album going double platinum in two months and remaining the top album on the Billboard 200 for four weeks.

Nas is on a 26-stop tour in 2017 – 2018, touring with several big names along the way, including Beck, Lauryn Hill, Chronixx and Nick Grant.

The hip-hop icon last released an album in 2012 titled Life is Good. The album, his eleventh, was released in July 2012 and was deemed a “magic moment” for Nas, according to reports. The album was nominated for the Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards in 2013.

Rumors of an additional and a final album under the Def Jam label have been swirling since 2013. The long overdue album was expected to be released in 2015, with reports that the album was finished in 2014.

“The Season,” a single released by Nas, was thought to be the album’s first single.

The artist’s album remains in limbo, with Nas moving on to become an executive producer for Netflix’s The Get Down series. Nas fueled rumors of an upcoming album on DJ Khaled’s Major Key album, which had a track called “Nas Album Done.” The single fueled the rumors and suggested that the release of the album was due shortly.

Nas confirmed in 2017 that his album would be released in 2017, with several artists posting photos of Nas in the studio working on a new album. BET, XXL Mag and several other major media outlets confirm that an album will be dropping his year.

“If I Ruled the World, ” “Made You Look” and “N.Y. State of Mind” are among Nas’ most famous songs.

Nas is often considered to be the best storyteller in the rap genre, with a flow that is conversational. MTV ranked Nas as the 5th greatest MC of all time.

He has since started to venture into additional business opportunities with an investment in Mass Appeal Magazine. He has since invested or partnered with ViralGains, Hennessy, Koru and LANDR. He also owns the HSTRY clothing line and joined the Sweet Chick restaurant with hopes of expanding the restaurant nationally.
